"OtaDigi"
Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB)

"OtaDigi" is a Finnish digital television experimenting project. It is run by the Technical Research Centre of Finland with the Helsinki University of Technology and other partners participating. The idea is to do small scale local digital television test transmissions, publicly, for research and educational purposes and on a non-commercial basis, in the greater Helsinki region and its vicinity, in the southern coastal area of Finland.

Inquiries on the "OtaDigi" project may be addressed to Mr. Timo Hintsa, tmo.hintsa(et)vtt.fi, Research Scientist, or Mr. Hannu Kuukkanen, hannu.kuukkanen(et)vtt.fi Senior Research Scientist, both from the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.

The name "OtaDigi" partly originates from the geographical name of a small cape of Otaniemi in the municipality of Espoo, which neighbours Helsinki in the west. The activities take place in Otaniemi.
